More about Helia 44 ''Cumbava'' sailing catamaran:
“Helia” 44 is the newest sailing catamaran from Fountain Pajot. The word means sunshine in Greek language and such represents a bright name for the brilliant new Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran.  At 13m length and well over twenty four feet wide, this sailing catamaran is usually offered in a custom 4 double en suite cabin version although we can arrange yacht charters on owner version models with 3 cabins including owners stateroom in the starboard hull, with en suite facilities and a study area, with two additional double cabins, with en suites in the port hull, The 4 cabin version, with 4 double en suite cabins plus additional bunk beds is found through the Caribbean and the Mediterranean yacht charter cruising grounds.

With their long affiliation with Fountaine-Pajot, designers Beret Racoupeauhave have instilled all their catamaran design expertise into the new Helia 44. When boarding at the stern, all yacht charter guests are greeted by wide open transoms, (one usually with a swimming ladder) and with spacious steps that lead to a cockpit which has seating for eight to ten persons at the cockpit table.

The French designers have managed to achieve a level deck to walk between the cockpit and the saloon, which opens up to give a true al fresco ambience to the saloon at anchor, and terrific communication and conviviality between the saloon, cockpit and helm position under way. The helm position is unique, in the way that it is both part of the cockpit, and part of the upper deck, which enables the skipper ( and two others) to sit at the helm, with unhindered 360 degree vision, whilst at the same time, being connected with the crew and activity in the saloon and cockpit. Next to the helm position is a sun deck, which makes for very sociable sailing.

All sailing control lines are led back to the winches just forward of the helm position. This design allows yacht charter clients and the crew to handle the sails, without cluttering the helm position itself with lines. With options of a powerful autopilot, and an electric winch to hoist the mainsail, this yacht is easily sailed short handed, and her 1237 sq.ft of sail area, coupled with a 10.8 ton displacement, and outstanding bridge deck clearance, makes her fast and comfortable under sail.

This particular model is from a Premier line and this includes an el. winch, 60L/h water maker, electrical toilet pumps, 3 x 110KW solar panels and barbeque amongst other equipment.  The yacht is otherwise fully equipped for bareboat yacht charters and family sailing holidays and this includes all navigational, safety, deck, galley and sails equipment.  For a bespoke yacht charter quote, please do send us a detailed YACHT CHARTER REQUEST now !
